I am a professor of biology in my 16th year at Peru State College. I teach courses across the curriculum in the Department of Natural Sciences, primarily in the areas of ecology, conservation biology, and wildlife management. My research interests are broad and fall within the realms of ecology, taxonomy, and biodiversity inventory. Current research projects include ecological work on the parasite communities of fishes in the streams and rivers of southeastern Nebraska, the ecology of transmission of several trematode parasites of terrestrial snails and small mammals, and biodiversity inventory of parasites of fishes and aquatic herpetiles in the Big Thicket National Preserve in southeastern Texas. The Big Thicket project is part of a larger effort, an All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory, to document and describe the standing diversity of all organisms in the Big Thicket National Preserve sponsored by the Big Thicket Association and the National Park Service. This latter effort is the focus of this website. If you have any questions about this project or the larger ATBI project, feel free to contact me at the above email or phone number. Below you will find a summary of my CV with a link to my full CV.
